Silage can really enable farmers to raise more livestock. Thatโ€™s because silage can be used to feed the animals the whole year round, especially during the dry season when green grass is scarce or not available.

At the NW Farm of Gilbert and Rachel Bugia in Palauig, Zambales, they are able to take care of 500 cattle and 2,000 goats, thanks to corn silage. The goats are fed with silage three times a day, supplemented with green forage that is available like napier and others. The animals consume an average of 200 tons of corn silage each month.

NW Farm is a subfarm of DV Roer International operated by Dexter Villamin, president and CEO. Mr Villamin received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2018 from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
