In 2016 we took a picture of the graveyard of the journalists and other victims of the Ampatuan massacre in Maguindanao. It was a chilling experience to see the graves of the victims that included our colleague in the Manila Bulletin, Bong Reblando who was a prolific correspondent.

The areas surrounding the graveyard are now devoted to the planting of organic bananas intended for export. We were in the company of Dr. Ronaldo Sumaoang who supplied the organic fertilizers for the bananas. Dr. Sumaoang is the manufacturer of Durabloom organic fertilizer.

During our visit, we were told that more than a thousand hectares were programmed to be planted to Cavendish banana.
