Some 40 participants in the AANI Farm Tour visited the Sarian Farm in Teresa, Rizal on Sunday, October 19, 2014. The visitors came from as far as Zamboanga in the South as well as from Samar, Bicol, Ilocos and other parts of the country. A gentleman and his wife from the Angola embassy in the Philippines also came with the group.
The attendees enjoyed taking their pictures with the ever-bearing Red Criollo cacao from Brazil, the huge Saluyot from Japan, the fruiting balimbing in containers, fruitful Paniyur black pepper from Kerala, India and many other exotic fruit trees. They observed how many of the fruit trees are propagated by means of grafting, inarching and marcotting. They also observed how fruit trees are grown in rubberized containers.
The farm tour also visited the AANI Urban Farm in Antipolo City and another diversified farm in Angono, Rizal owned by Alex and Nancy Guiruela.
