AGRICULTURE MAGAZINE: July 2015 Issue Is Full Of Interesting Stories

Make sure to get a copy of the July 2015 issue of Agriculture Magazine published by the Manila Bulletin which will be off the press shortly. The cover features the way Milea Bee Farm raises it bees, including the Stingless Bees which produce not only honey but several other products. This native bee is also useful in crop pollination.

Another feature is the harvest festival in San Jose Del Monte City where the 89th batch of the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan trainees in vegetable production is featured. This is a project of the SM Foundation in collaboration with Harbest Agribusiness.

Also featured is the story of a cooperative  that started with just P4,215 share capital in 1986 and now boasts of total assets of P280 million. The cooperative is the Masisit-Bucal Livelihood Cooperative in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan.

You will also read the story of a third class town in Ilocos Norte which is the top producer of vermicompost in the North. Some 500 members of the cooperative in the town of Solsona are producing vermi compost not only for their own use but also for sale to other farmers.

You will also read the latest report from the Alaminos Goat Farm about the Anglo Nubian and Saanen crosses that consistently produce an average of two liters of milk a day for 305 days.
