THE 2016 Allied Botanical Open House which is open to the public on Feb. 5-7, is becoming an agritourism event. The company aims to make their experimental farm an educational and fun-filled stopover for tourists going to Baguio for the Panagbenga flower festivities.
The 2016 open house highlights the introduction of Allied’s green products with the theme “Live Life The Green Way” for organic and natural farming system. The company will launch its new range of organic vegetable seeds, its trademark green wall and green roof system for edible and urban landscaping, the Koppert Biological Systems and Nordox organic fungicide for a complete range of organic farm inputs, and their colorful collection of annual flowering plants and cut-flowers arranged in a beautifully landscaped garden.
In its advocacy to make vegetable farming more exciting, educational, and fun this year, it created a walk-through exhibit featuring a collection of vegetable-themed “Fruit Fiesta” where they will showcase different varieties of watermelon and melon, “Chili Explosion” – from the hottest chili to the sweetest bell pepper, pinakbet varieties in their Bahay Kubo collection, Heat Tolerant Chopsuey, Tribong Legumes and a lot more.
Visitors may take advantage of the various landscapes which are especially designed to be the visitors’ photo background or theme. Visitors can also join various interactive games, lectures and seminars about seedling preparation, urban and edible landscaping, flower production and vertical gardening, Koppert Biological Systems, hydroponics, greenhouse production, and modern agriculture techniques on vegetable production.
The company’s trde paqrtners will also be exhibiting their respective products and services while food kiosks will be made available in the area.
