Dr. Antonio G. Papa was recently promoted to University Professor at the Cavite State University (CvSU), the highest academic rank to be conferred to faculty members among State Universities and Colleges in the country. He is with the Department of Development Studies, College of Economics, Management and Development Studies.
Dr. Papa got his masters and PhD degrees in Extension Education at the University of the Philippines. He finished his BS degree in Agricultural Education from the then Don Severino Agricultural College (DSAC), now CvSU.
He has taught courses on agricultural extension education, public administration and management at the CvSU Graduate School from 1984 to 1986 and from 1991 to the present. He also served as a member of the Core Planning Team that crafted the Integrated Research, Development and Extension Agenda and Programs on Urban Agriculture. Likewise, he was a member of the technical working group that implemented the Urban Agriculture RDE programs under the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Agricultural Research.
In 2008, while acting as CvSU’s vice president for Research, Extension and Continuing Education and Training Services, he also served as director of the Southern Tagalog Agriculture Resources Research and Development Consortium (STARRDEC) supervising 25 agriculture and related agencies both in Regions IV-A and IV-B.
