Members of provincial chapters of the Bonsai and Suiseki Alliance of the Philippines, Inc. (BASAPI) headed by Vic Deronia, president, met on Sept. 29, 2013 at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City to thresh out the details of a big bonsai show that they will stage starting April 25, 2014 in Quezon City.

The Kapampangan Horticulture & Bonsai Society was led by Omar Surla, founding president and also incumbent president. With him were Edwin Bautista, incoming president; Averell Laquindanum and Bong de Luna.

By the way, the Kapampangan group will stage their 10th regional bonsai competition on Oct. 11-13 at the Event Center, Marquee Mall, Angeles City.

Also at the Quezon Memorial Circle meeting were members of the Rizal Bonsai Club headed by Marcos Cantaco. With him were Vida Cantaco, Merlinda Albano, Arwin Albano, Vincent Ferrer and Dr. Erwin Fabros.

Also attending was Gemma Francisco, the representative of Pangasinan. The alliance also has members from Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and elsewhere.
