Bright Harvesting Techniques

Here are two practical techniques in harvesting commercial volume of finger and hot peppers.

When Benito Magaling of Lipa City planted two hectares to Django finger pepper (Pangsigang) a few years ago, he had to harvest two tons everyday to meet the requirements of his buyers.

What did he do to harvest two tons a day? He hired 20 women pickers. One only had to harvest 100 kilos. In just about half a day, the two tons were harvested. All he had to pay the pickers was P170 for their labor.

Very practical, isn’t it?

Ernesto Romero used to plant hot pepper in Talavera, Nueva Ecija. He also hired pickers to harvest the ripe fruits.

To make sure that the harvesters are careful in harvesting, each harvester is assigned definite rows. He swears that the harvesters take good care of their assigned rows.
