DR. BROWN RICE: A Mini Machine For Making Brown Rice

Engr. Reynaldo Lantin, retired engineering professor at UP Los Baños, demonstrated at the latest Agrilink trade show what he calls Dr. Brown Rice, a small machine that can dehull or dehusk palay to produce brown rice. The machine is from Japan and can dehull about six kilos in one hour. This is one model that a family can use to produce brown rice for home use.
An enterprising entrepreneur can use it to produce brown rice for the neighborhood or for sale in weekend markets.
One plan is for Rey to fabricate a Philippine model with the blessings of the patent owner in Japan. Some parts of the machine could be made of wood instead of plastic.

nice to see our former dean Doc Lantin still healthy and active in agriculture! 🙂
How much sir?
Finally, a handy rice mill for home use. How much and how can we avail of the mill?
How much is the machine? where and how can we avail the mill?
