Jaap Mazereeuw, managing director of Enza Zaden, an 80-year-old seed company from the Netherlands, will formally launch its Philippine affiliate, determined to establish its presence in this part of the tropical world. The new company is Enza Zaden Philippines, Inc.with offices in Quezon City.
Enza Zaden cites in its website that the company prides itself in having more than 30 crops, 1,200 vegetable varieties, 100 new introductions annually, 20 billion heads of lettuce. These are just a few figures to demonstrate the size of the company. Enza Zaden’s vegetables are purchased and eaten all around the world, and are appreciated by growers, traders and consumers alike.
On November 13, Mr. Mazereeuw will be participating in the 25th Asian Seed Congress staged by the Asia and Pacific Seed Association (APSA) at the Marriott Hotel Manila.
