Free Spirulina Farm Tour, Feb. 11, 2017

A free tour of Aztec Spirulina Farm, the most modern producer and processor of Spirulina in the Philippines will be held on February 11, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. This was announced by Engr. Napoleon Puente, owner and founder of the company located at Village East, Cainta, Rizal.

Attendees will be able to see how Spirulina, considered the world’s most complete food, is produced under very hygienic conditions in roofed concrete tanks. Valerie Puente and Patricia Suanino will also conduct lectures on the many health benefits from Spirulina.


Spirulina is getting the attention of academic researchers, according to Engr. Puente. Recently, Aztec Spirulina and De La Salle University have entered into a research collaboration regarding various aspects of the blue-green algae. These include the biology, the algae’s special nutritional properties,techniques of drying, marketing and other aspects that could promote growth of the industry.
In another development, a trader from the Middle East who had tasted the high quality of the Spirulina granules produced by Aztec has shown special interest in importing the product into the Arab countries.Preparation of packaging that is labeled with the Arab language is under way, according to Engr. Puente. When this will finally materialize, he plans to expand production in a property in Tanay, Rizal.
