Attendees will be able to witness the very hygienic growing facilities that consist of concrete tanks, roofed with durable plastic and walled with screen to maintain the highest level of sanitation and thus avoid contamination.
Aztec Foodgrowers produces Spirulina capsules as well as granules. These have been approved as food supplement by the Food and Drug Administration. Aztec Spirulina has been analyzed to contain as much as 72 percent protein, higher than those reported from Australia.
The Aztec growing facilities were visited recently by Dr. Joel Cuello, an expert in the culture of algae from the Arizona University and reported that he was impressed by the high-tech facilities at the Spirulina farm.
Dr. Cuello, who volunteered to make a video endorsing the high quality of Aztec Spirulina for free, urged that Spirulina be popularized as a source of nutrition for all Filipinos as this is a food resource that does not require a big area to produce commercially.
