We have got this report that a governor in the North has mobilized big corn harvesting machines to harvest corn that will be used for making silage to feed his cattle that number several hundreds. He is worried that without silage his livestock will go hungry during the dry months which have already started.
In making silage, the corn stovers or whole corn plants with ears are chopped and fermented in airtight containers or in trenches on the ground for really big volumes. Molasses and sometimes probiotic enzymes are added for enhanced quality of the resulting silage. Rumibiozyme is one such formulation for this purpose.
