HEAR THIS! He Drives Away Insects From His Plants Thru Companion Planting

Look! No insects attacking his arugula and mint grown together in his hanging basket.

Dr. Eduardo Paningbatan Jr., a retired soil scientist from UP Los Baños, has a very practical way of preventing insect attack on his plants. Like the Arugula that he is growing in baskets made of coco coir and coco peat which he nourishes  with his special plant nutrients.

What does he do? Well, very simple my dear Watson. He grows together his Arugula and mint in one hanging basket. The mint drives the insects away, he swears.

By the way, Paningbatan has developed a technique for growing veggies and other crops (ornamentals, for instance) in recycled soda bottles and other containers. You will usually find him in his both during AANI Agri-Bazaars at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.
