The so-called QFT or Quick Freeze Technology which is being used by a multinational company for its export of sliced banana and mango could also be a boon to onion growers and traders. This is one technology that keeps the quick-frozen item’s natural flavor and succulence intact.
One very knowledgeable source revealed that this technology could work wonders for onions. Onions could be diced to the desired sizes and then quick frozen. This then could be sold in supermarkets for ready use by cooks. No more tears in slicing the onion bulb for cooking or for salads.
Another fruit which could be subjected to instant quick freezing is jackfruit. This will be much more tasty than the dehydrated jackfruit available in Thailand.
