January 2014 Agriculture Cover

The issue carries a special report by the editor on his trip to Ilocos Norte featuring on the cover the poor boy who became Mango King of the North, Ricardo ‘Carding’ Tolentino. Aside from mango, he also grows vegetables.
Other stories from the North include John Teodoro with his giant gourami and his big nursery of mahogany and landscaping materials; Bob and Baby Sacro, successful foresters; Angel Padron, the organic farmer; the vegetable farmers of Casili; the fisherfolk of Badoc; dragon fruit grower Edita Dacuycuy, and Dungon Dungon, a big place awaiting development.
Of course there are many other interesting articles in the January issue like a couple who doesn’t want to borrow money to develop their own farm, and a guy who farms not for the money but for the joy of giving away his harvest.
The Agriculture Magazine, published by Manila Bulletin, is the most widely circulated magazine of its kind in the Philippines.
