Mama Sita

Mama Sita Banana is a very promising variety for growing in the Philippines whether in big plantations or in the home garden. This is a variety from Thailand which produces big bunches. Its fruits can be consumed several ways. It can be eaten as fresh ripe fruit, boiled, fried or made into chips.
Mama Sita produces a big trunk and is more stocky than the common Saba banana so it is more resistant to strong winds. Suckers will bear fruit one year after planting which is earlier than the common Saba banana. It is also not susceptible to common banana diseases.
