TILAPIA at P100 per kilo.
The reasons why the supply of Galunggong (roundscad) and Tilapia are in short supply and why their prices are high will be discussed in a forum that is organized by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018 in a restaurant at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.
The forum aims to educate the invitees regarding the importance of the two fish species for the country’s food security. Experts will identify the issues and reasons why the supply of Galunggong and Tilapia have dropped in the country and why their prices have increased.
The Science Policy and Information Forum hopes to formulate recommendations to sustain the supply of the two fish species in the country for food security for submission to legislators and other concerned sectors.
NAST is an attached agency to the Department of Science and Technology and is mandated by law to serve as adviser to the President of the Philippines and the Cabinet on policies concerning science and technology in the country.
