The Philippine Orchid Society (POS) will stage its Midyear Orchid & Garden Show on August 25 to September 5, 2016 at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City. The event which will be staged in cooperation with the Quezon City government will be in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the garden club.
To take center stage is the Queen of all Orchids, the Waling-waling, a native of Mindanao which has been used as stud plant to produce various fantastic hybrids by plant breeders around the world.
Among the highlights of the show are the daily lectures on various orchid and gardening topics. This blogger, Zac B. Sarian, will conduct a lecture on “Growing Exotic Fruit Trees in Containers as a Business or Hobby”, This will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 5.
