Ampalaya hybrids developed by East-West Seed Company in the Philippines are becoming popular in Sri Lanka and other countries.

From a 500-square meter planting by H.N. Wickramsiga of Ulpathagama, Sri Lanka, he has already harvested 1,080 kilos in just five harvests. It is expected that 12 more harvests will be made until the plants become unproductive.
