PORKGANIC, the newest product from the Costales Nature Farms, was showcased at the 2nd Urban Agriculture Trade Show at the Tri Noma Mall in Quezon City, February 27-28, 2016. The trade show is under the auspices of Manila Bulletin’s Agriculture magazine.

Porkganc is organic pork produced by Ronald Costales in his new pig farm in Majayjay, Laguna. Organic pork products include pork tapa, tocino, longganisa, pork chop and fresh cuts of liempo, pigue, head for sisig, pork legs for crispy pata and others.

Organic tapa sells at P150 per 250 grams. So is tocino. The fresh cuts range from P200 to P325 per kilo. Ronald has already appointed a few distributors in nearby provinces like Bulacan and Pampanga. In each province, he will have just one distributor who will take care of sellers in each town. He will soon put up a central distributing center in Quezon City. He is reluctant to place his organic pork in big supermarkets because they require a high percentage of margin.

  1. Hi Zac, You may find this interesting. As I have found your articles interesting and very informative. I thought, this might be of interest to you too. I’m not quite sure how it plays into the big picture (or whether it doesn’t) but the way I think about things; it’s always better to have more information on a field of interest than not.
