CLARK FREEPORT – A total of 34,000 ready-to-plant seedlings were recently distributed to farm families in Capas, Tarlac under the seedling dispersal program of the Clark Development Corporation headed by Arturo P. Tugade.
The seedlings which were supplied by East-West Seed Company included hybrid papaya, okra, eggplant, pepper and some others. The dispersal project dubbed “Prutas at Gulay sa Likod Bahay” is part of the state company’s social responsibility program. It aims to help the farmers grow their own fruits and vegetables in their home gardens for their own consumption as well as for sale in the market.
Capas Mayor Antonio C. Rodriguez thanked the CDC management for the donation which will go a long way in improving the diet of the farm families.
CDC also implements Prutas at Gulay sa Likod Bahay program in Mabalacat in Pampanga, Bamban in Tarlac and in the Indigenous People (Aeta) community.
Earlier, technicians of East-West Seed Company conducted training on the proper care and management of the dispersed seedlings. .
