Willie Menor is vice president for commercial rabbit breeds of the Philippine Lapine Club, Inc. He is also the owner of Tierra del Menor Farm in Magallanes, Cavite.
Exhibits of commercial and fancy breeds of rabbits as well as other small farm animals will be the highlight of the three-day AANI Agri-Bazaar cum Agri-Kapihan from March 15-17 at the Planas Gardens, Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.
The exhibits will be undertaken by members of the Philippine Lapine Club, Inc. (PLCI) headed by Hubert Sy. The other officers include Mitzi Alampayan, vice president for Fancy Breeds, and Wilfredo Menor, vice president for Commercial Breeds. Menor is the owner of Tierra del Menor in Magallanes, Cavite where he raises rabbits commercially as well as other farm animals and field crops.
Aside from rabbits, members and other participants will exhibit quails, native chickens, goats and native pigs. There will be seminars on livestock on the first day.
On March 16, there will be a launching of the PLCI pro-meat division. There will be free seminars on different breeds of rabbits by an expert from Indonesia, Ms. Arie Wardhani, a judge of the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA).
Wilfredo Menor will also conduct a seminar on Practical Rabbit Raising. Another speaker will tackle Rabbit Diseases and Remedies. On March 17, there will be one-on-one consultation with PLCI officers and members.
Aside from the Philippine Lapine group, there will be other participants who will give presentations. On March 15, 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Jeffrey dela Cruz of Agrichexers will talk on chicken layer production. This will be followed by Profitable Quail Egg production by Dr. Quail, and Sa Goat Kita by Robert Yupangco of Paradizoo.
