RAGSAK FARM Offers Sheep & Goat Farming 101, Tuition Paid For By ATI

Dr. Ronaldo Sumaoang, a microbiologist who runs a sheep farm and other agri enterprises, will teach the trainees how to prepare silage for feeding sheep and goats.
The Ragsak Farm operated by Dr. Ronaldo Sumaoang in Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac, has been accredited by the Agricultural Training Institute as a Learning Site.
Ragsak Farm is offering Sheep & Goat Farming 101. This is a three-day short course that tackles various aspects of running successful sheep and goat projects. One emphasis is on the production of improved silage with the use of probiotics for feeding the animals.
Currently, Dr. Sumaoang has partnered with Right Agri of Isabela for the mechanization of corn planting, harvesting and shredding for the production of silage. They are now producing ordinary corn silage as well as TMR or Total Mix Ration which has added protein for faster growth of the animals. The materials are fermented using enzymes and beneficial microorganisms to make the silage more digestible.

The silage produced by Dr. Sumaoang and his partners are vacuum-packed for assuring better quality feed.
The first batch of trainees consisting of 35 participants is scheduled on October 24-26, 2018. Two more batches will be scheduled in November. As of now, Dr. Sumaoang said, at least 200 have made their reservations. The trainees donโt pay for the short course because ATI will shoulder the cost.

Sir, can I observe the training po? Pabalik n po kasi ako sa Canada early next month at gusto ko lng madagdagan ang aking kaalaman sa pag-aalaga ng kambing. Kung sakali po baka mag invest din ako sa similar na negosyo. May nabili po kasi akong 15ha last month at pinag-iisipan ko kung anong negosyo ang pwede ilagay doon. Salamat po.
