SACRED BAMBOO: At TreeLife Farm, Carmen, North Cotabato

THERE’S a century old bamboo atop a promontory at the TreeLife Farm in Sitio Kilambay, Brgy. Kibudtongan, Carmen, North Cotabato. This is in the dwarf coconut plantation of Jerry and Jocelyn Taray who are the biggest producers of organic coco sugar and syrup.
The bamboo is considered very sacred by the Indigenous People living around the area. They go there to pray for whatever request they have in mind whenever they pass by. Even Jerry and Joy also go there to make their wish or to rest and view the panoramic scenery down below.
The crown is so thick, one will not get wet under even when it rains. The clump is really big. It must have a diameter of three or more meters. There’s a wooden table and benches for those who go there to pray or rest.
