Carlos Saplala, SeedWorks president, will give updates on the company’s products and services at 11 a.m. on October 4. In the afternoon, you will meet in person Celebrity Chef Boy Logro. He is SeedWorks’ latest Ambassador for US-88 and TH-821, the two outstanding hybrid rice varieties of the company. Logro will demonstrate fruit carving and preparing specialty dishes that could be paired with brown rice.
US-88 produces premium long and soft grain ideal for making brown rice.
TH-82, aka Tatag Hybrid, is tolerant to bacterial leaf blight, to intermittent drought and waterlogging. It has strong tillers, non-lodging and non-shattering grains. Recommended for wet and dry seasons. Applicable for direct and dry seeding. Has shiny white grain and high head rice recovery.
At the recent 7th National Rice Technology Forum (NRTF) in Talibon, Bohol, the two hybrid varieties were showcased. The farmers who have tried planting them, including Aristol Daitol and his wife Cristina, said that the high yields they got were beyond their expectations.
By the way, SeedWorks also distributes seeds of Prolifica, an outstanding eggplant that is prolific, resistant to pests and diseases, and its fruits have excellent keeping and eating qualities.
