IF YOU happen to be in Bangkok try to look for the slender sweet potato just a bit bigger than the finger. It has red skin and yellow flesh, fine-textured and without discernible fibers. We have tried it and we really liked it. Too bad, we didn’t see a fresh root in the market, we would have bought some for planting in our farm.
Boiled roots that are packed in transparent plastic are sold by vendors along the sidewalk. A pack costs 10 baht or about P13 in Philippine money. This variety is something that Filipino farmers would like to grow. Although small, the boiled roots are very nice to eat.
