SM FOUNDATION: Veggie Trainees In 2 Quezon Province Towns


SM Foundation in collaboration with private and government agencies launched recently the training of two batches of farmers on vegetable production in two towns in Quezon province. This is under its “Kabalikat Sa Kabuhayan Vegetable Training Program” that has been going on in various parts of the Philippines since six years ago in Bacolod City.
The 84th batch of trainees was launched in Dolores, Quezon on January 29, 2015. Two days later, the 85th batch was launched in Padre Burgos town.
The participants in the season-long training consist mostly of marginalized farmers and Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. A total of 213 participants enrolled in the 84th batch while 206 are participating in the 85th batch.
Collaborating with the SM Foundation are Harbest Agribusiness, Department of Agriculture, DSWD and local government units.
