SOMETHING INTERESTING: Purple & White Yam In Vietnam

During one of our trips to Vietnam, we spotted something interesting in the public market. A purple yam and a white yam were being sold side by side. The white yam looks very much like the purple yam on the outside (not sliced). The flesh of one is very white. We wonder what the white tastes like.
Can someone enlighten us?

I don’t know if that tastes like our puraw na ube (white yam) cooked ala buribod but are you usually able to take samples/planting materials back home, Doc Zac?
I meant buridibod.
