ROWENA BIENES shows the big curd of Sunrise cauliflower, a variety grown at the Allied Botanical experimental farm in Tayug, Pangasinan. This produces curd or flower that weighs as much as half a kilo or more in just 40 to 45 days from transplanting. The flower is solid and compact. The beauty about this variety is that the curd has what is called wrapper leaves that protect the developing flower from the heat of the sun. It is good for growing in the lowland as well as in mid elevation up to 500 meters above sea level. Rowena is a senior staff of Allied Botanical Corporation.
