The Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA) will hold its General Assembly on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 2 to 5:30 p.m. at the Narra Ballroom of I’M Hotel Makati at Makati Avenue, corner Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City. The theme is “The Power of the Strategic Many Towards Sustainable Agriculture.”
The Assembly will be keynoted by Undersecretary Evelyn Laviña of the Department of Agriculture. At the Plenary panelists will discuss Collective Impact, Value Chains, and Sustainable Agriculture will be discused.
The panelists include Benjie Yap, chairman and CEO of Unilever Philippines, PPSA chair; Usec Evelyn Laviña, Faye Corcuera of BPI Foundation, and Bro. Armin Luistro, president of Philippine Business for Social Progress. In the breakout sessions, digital solutions, business beyond the usual: going inclusive, and agricultural value chain financing.
Expected to attend are executive from top companies, including more than 70 PPSA partners, government officials, and PPSA international and local partners and others.
PPSA is a multi-stakeholder partnership platform that aims to engage smallholder farmers as market players towards socio-economic growth and competitive advantage. It was catalyzed by Grow Asia and the Department of Agriculture to bring together different sectors and actors to co-develop and scale initiatives to address key issues in agriculture. Grow Asia was established by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat, to convene, facilitate, and help scale action-focused partnerships aligned with national agriculture agenda.
