A NUMBER of Thai mango varieties have been introduced in the Philippines, These include Chokanhan, Lubdok (also called Many Babies), Nam Dok Mai and others. What is so nice about them is that they are very enjoyable to eat as green mango, especially those that are mature green. They are sweet and not sour. Of course, they are also nice to eat as ripe fruit.
If these varieties could be produced in commercial volume, they could command a good price in the green mango market. It should click in restaurants as well as in beer joints.
In photo are fruits of what Filipinos call Eating Green. Actually that’s not the name in Thailand. It just happens that it has become known as such in the Philippines.
