WATERCRESS is one of the interesting water plants we saw growing in four small ponds at the Lily of the Valley Orgnic Farms owned by Jefferson and Elisa Laruan in Sitio Ampasit, Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet. It is a water plant that is related to cabbage, broccoli and others that belong to the plant family called crucifers.

From the internet we gather that this might as well be called a super food, considering the many health benefits that one can get by eating watercress. It is claimed to be effective in lowering blood pressure. It is also for cancer prevention. As food, it is said to be the staple food of the Roman soldiers of old.
