WHAT'S NEW: Locally-Developed Coffee Roasting Machine, Cavite State University, PhilippinesThe National Coffee Research, Development and Extension Center (NCRDEC) of the Cavite State University in Indang, Cavite has developed a coffee roasting machine called Bravura. This machine has a microcontroller device that completely controls its operation.It is a vertical roasting machine for small-scale businesses which can roast 5 to 10 kilos in 20 minutes.

Bravura is much cheaperย thanย similar models around the world. One unitย costs P485,000 equivalent to US$11,000. Its counterpart in the United States (VR-10, 10 kg) is being sold at US$35,000. Its counterpart in Europe (GHIBLI R-15, 5-15 kg) costs US$25,000. (Contributed by AGPapa-CvSU)
