Farming is getting more attractive to the young. We just got an invitation to visit a 42-hectare farm in Palawan where a young seminarian drop out is supervising the production of crops required by the very profitable manufacturing firm founded by his father.
The farm is in the biggest barangay in the country consisting of some 40,000 hectares. The workers were former illegal loggers. Today they are proud as farmers who are adopting good agricultural practices. And they are well paid, thanks to the initial subsidy from the mother company.
This is just a preliminary teaser. We will tell you the full details of the 42-hectare farm operation after our visit sometime this February. Keep posted.
