The Teodoro F. Valencia Foundation has invited your blogger, Zac B. Sarian, to talk on agricultural journalism on Friday, February 13 at 2 p.m. at the foundation headquarters at the Rizal Park.

The audience will consist of high school students from Metro Manila. The T.F.Valencia Foundation was named in honor of the late Teodoro F. Valencia, a pillar of Philippine Journalism in the ’60s to the late ’80s. He was an influential columnist of the pre-Martial Law Manila Times and in the Manila Bulletin after Martial Law.

We will discuss the importance of reporting agriculture as a means to improve agricultural production in the country by disseminating the latest improved technologies in farming. It is also a means to open the eyes of investors to the opportunities in agriculture.

We will also discuss the techniques in writing agri stories, looking for subjects to write about, interviewing techniques and selling freelance articles to newspapers and magazines.

Every year, the T.F. Valencia Foundation invites journalists covering different beats to lecture on their respective areas of coverage.
